Magic is easy, or so Glolindir thought. That is until he came face to face with his very first live monster. Casting spells was not so simple with death breathing down your neck. Good thing the fledgling elven wizard was not alone, or his story might have ended before it began. Thanks to Seth, the mysterious halfling who just might be an assassin, Lloyd, the tall Spiritblade who wields his fiery swords like a whirlwind, and Aksel, the little gnome whose very touch can heal almost any wound, they all somehow survive. 

That is just the beginning of their troubles though, for dark shadows hang over the little seaport town of Ravenford. Sent by the enigmatic wizard, Maltar, to map out the ruined keep southwest of town, the gifted young teens quickly find themselves in the center of mystery and danger. From dark caves to underground passages, hidden rooms, magical mirrors, occult rituals, bandits, evil priests, dark magicians, and monsters, they face constant peril. Will they be able to rise to the challenge and truly become the Heroes that Ravenford so sorely needs?
